Scientific Name -- Procavia capensis
Size –- length of 20', weighing 8.8-11 lbs
Diet –- Plants, grubs, insects

Found throughout the Middle East and Africa, the Rock Hyrax is the closest living relative to the Elephant. Rock Hyraxes can be found in elevations upto 13,800 ft above sea level and habituate in rock crevices to escape from Predators.

The Israelites erroneously mention that the Rock Hyrax (or Coney) chew the cud despite not being ruminants are are by extension unhygenic animals, though goes on to mention are are exceedingly wise despite their size.
